Summary
The aim of this project was to investigate the reproductive, social, psychological and relationship consequences of a diagnosis of male infertility in a large cohort of men who consulted a specialist andrologist for evaluation of infertility in 2001 and 2002. Most men and their partner had pursued ART. Over 85% had become fathers since diagnosis as a result of ART, spontaneous conception or adoption. Overall the men were well adjusted and in caring relationships but those who had not become fathers had lower emotional well-being than fathers
